ABOUT US

Leslie E. Billet, founder and Principal of L.E.BilletAssociates, LLC, has 20 years of experience as an institutional investment consultant, analyzing investments across all asset classes and advising boards of directors of investment pools for all types of  investment assets.  Leslie has worked with established retirement plans as large as $6 billion, and has installed new plans with no assets.  She is experienced working with providers, negotiating plan features and costs, evaluating provider services, and finding solutions that satisfy all parties.  For 20 years, Leslie has also worked with investment advisors to evaluate products for fit within client portfolios.  In her role at LEBA, she has helped advisors to refine and even redefine products,  identify appropriate target client markets, and create messaging that attracts new clients. She has her BA, magna cum laude, in political science from Boston University and her MBA in finance from Baruch College of CUNY.  Leslie is also a Commissioner on the Bergen County Human Relations Commission, by appointment of the elected Freeholders.

  • Reviewed 401(k) vendor's product and practices. Reviewed business model, conducted competitive analysis.  Reviewed client contracts, marketing materials, website.  Recommended improvements to better reach and attract the  target market.
  • Reviewed pitch book for Long/Short equity manager with AI process.  Recommended changes to reach prospects better.
  • Worked with alternatives manager to improve sales cycle, with  recommendations to improve marketing materials.  Created a design directed at different layers of decision makers, with both easy-to-understand and sophisticated materials.
  • Worked with non-US alternatives manager to ensure that US service relationships met the highest standards of US investors.
  • Conducted an extensive search for a consultant   for a $400M pension plan, resulting in the selection and installation of a new consultant. 
  • Evaluated plan design, fees and services for  a $400M defined contribution plan.​
